Upgraded Pharmaceutical Substances Features Eight Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients

Thieme Publishing Group today announced that Pharmaceutical Substances version 3.5 is now available. Compiled by renowned scientists Professors A. Kleemann, J. Engel, B. Kutscher and Dr. D. Reichert, this comprehensive reference guide to every significant pharmaceutical compound contains syntheses, patents and applications of all FDA approved active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Pharmaceutical Substances is an invaluable resource for everyone involved in the design, discovery, development and evaluation of drugs and is accessible through the Thieme Chemistry website (www.thieme-chemistry.com).

Version 3.5 includes eight new API's such as Algoliptin, Hydrochloride, and Eribulin – used to fight cancer, as well as one updated synthesis (Eplerenone). Now there are a total of 27,479 Structures, 10,491 Reactions and 2,511 active pharmaceutical ingredients (API's).

“Pharmaceutical Substances 3.5 consists of eight monographs of recently launched drugs and a revised version of the steroid derivative Eplerenone--featuring additions and actualization of processes and patent literature,” said Professor Kleemann, who along with Professor Engel created this influential reference guide.

Developed in association with InfoChem and FIZ Chemie, this digital version of the information resource is a web-based, easy-to-navigate portal that utilizes standard browser technology. Endusers appreciate the system's easy-to-use interface, which facilitates locating data rapidly and allows them to graphically search structures using ISIS Draw, ChemDraw or a built-in Java Applet. Pharmaceutical Substances 3.5 supports both ChemDraw 9.0.1 and 10.0 and is compatible with Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers on PC's and Safari 2.0 on MAC's running OS X.
