Thieme Connect is an online service created to combine the functionality and ease of bringing all of Thieme's online products and resources together in one place.
The Thieme Connect website provides users with direct access to Thieme's electronic products such as eJournals, E-Books, Learning Tools and Reference Works.
Thieme Connect offers free access to search, tables of content, abstracts, and alerting services. If your institution currently has a subscription with us, you will have full-text access to the articles published in the eJournals, E-Books, Learning Tools and Reference Works.
An institutional customer is any library (academic, medical institution, corporate, government, etc.) that authorizes multiple users to access subscribed online content under a single license. Most institutional customers can allow their users to access content from Thieme based on their IP range.
An individual user is any single subscriber who has licensed access to content. Access is typically identity dependent, activated by the individual's personal login and password. Individual subscriptions are not transferable.
As Thieme Connect is an online portal for Thieme's e-products, you will be unable to find information on printed versions of Thieme books. To access information on Thieme books, please visit
www.thieme.com or
www.thieme.de.
Access to abstracts and table of contents of all eJournals is available free of charge. Individual customers are required to purchase an individual print subscribtion in order to be able to view an eJournal online. Print subscriptions can be puchased here:
www.thieme.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=251&Itemid=180. Institutional customers are required to have a license to gain access to eJournals online. Please

Every page on Thieme Connect features a quick search input, located in the upper-left corner. When searching, our search feature searches the content of our publications in addition to the Thieme Connect website. If you would like to search all products, please select "Advanced Search" located below the quick search input.
The search feature Thieme Connect is a text-based search covering all content available online, including journal articles, online book chapters, and reference works or database entries. The top 3 results are then displayed based by product. For more results, please select "click to view all results."
All visitors may browse and search on the Thieme Connect website regardless of their subscription status. Licensed Users may view enhanced abstracts with references along with full-text material.
To execute an Advanced Search, users can specify between search term, author surname and author first name covering the following 2 subject areas, Medicine and Chemistry and products types such as Journals, E-Books, Learning Tools and Reference Works.
On Thieme Connect when using the quick search input on a page covering a particular subject area such as medicine or chemistry or one of our product pages Journals, E-Books, Encyclopedias or Reference Works the search function only searches content within that particular subject area or product type.

The E-Books include title information for library cataloging systems that is available in the MARC (Machine Readable Catalog) format. The data for each title is provided in the MARC 21 format that is a standard for cataloging software. More information about MARC Records is available at the Library of Congress website:
http://www.loc.gov/marc/. To view the entire listing of MARC Records available for Thieme E-Books, see the
MARC Records page. The records are available in both the MARC (.mrc) and text formats (.oc).
Thieme eJournals and the Thieme E-Book Library are compliant with COUNTER 2. We plan to make Thieme Reference Works compliant with COUNTER as soon as a standard is established.
