Batteries are an integral part of implementing renewable energy. Over the next century, batteries will become ubiquitous. The exponential demand for batteries will lead to a substantial sustainability problem.  In this regard, searching for electroactive organic molecules could pave the way for next-generation batteries. Using organic materials for battery electrodes makes it possible to recycle them sustainably. This special issue aims to cover the latest advances in organic batteries and provide a platform for discussions and collaborations among organic chemists and experts in electrochemistry.

The topic of interest for this issue includes, but are not limited to, Redox flow battery, Supercapacitors, organic electrolytes, polymer membranes for redox flow battery and, in general, organic electrode materials for batteries.
