Radical chemistry is undergoing a renaissance, both in the selective generation of organic radicals and in their use in organic synthetic reactions.
The introduction of photoredox catalysis in organic synthesis has triggered a surge of interest that means that radical chemistry is no longer a curiosity with low practicability, but rather an extremely powerful synthetic methodology. These two volumes cover some of the fundamentals of radical chemistry as it relates to organic synthesis and modelling of radical reactions as well as techniques and procedures for generating various radical centers and their application in organic synthesis.
