Interview with Shanta Dhar
SYNFORM presents an interview with Shanta Dhar (Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, USA). Shanta Dhar obtained her B.S. degree with honors in chemistry from the University of North Bengal (India) and her MSc with inorganic chemistry specialization from the same university. She pursued her PhD at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore – under the supervision of Professor Akhil R. Chakravarty working in the area of metals in medicine. In 2006, she joined Johns Hopkins University (USA) as a postdoctoral fellow and then moved to the MIT (USA) for another postdoctoral position. The next station in Shanta’s career was the Department of Chemistry at the University of Georgia from 2010 until recently. In June 2016, she moved to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (USA) as an Associate Professor. She also serves as an Assistant Director of Technology and Innovation at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at Miller School of Medicine.
