As of January 1, 2023, Professor Thierry Ollevier from Université Laval (Canada) takes on the responsibility as Editor-in-Chief of SynOpen.
Thierry Ollevier obtained his PhD in Chemistry in 1997 from the University of Namur (Belgium). Following his PhD, he spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow, first at Stanford University (USA, 1998–2000) and then at the Université de Montréal (Canada, 2000–2001). In 2001, he moved to the Université Laval as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor (2006) and then Full Professor (since 2010). The research areas of Thierry’s group are focused on organic chemistry and synthetic methodology. Current research involves asymmetric synthesis including the design of new chiral ligands, diazo chemistry, metal-catalyzed and metal-free reactions as well as electrosynthesis and green chemistry.

About SynOpen
SynOpen is an international, single-anonymous peer-reviewed journal reporting current research results in chemical sciences. It provides the community with open access content, mainly but not exclusively, in the areas of synthesis, catalysis, organometallic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, photochemistry, polymer and materials synthesis. SynOpen offers the opportunity to publish both experimental and theoretical studies as well as to publish scientific primary data. The journal also publishes insightful review articles intended for new researchers as well as specialists in this field. SynOpen offers Select Crowd Review (SCR) as an additional option to traditional peer review.
