Synthesis of Cyclotribenzoin
Ognjen Š. Miljanić describes in SYNLETT the synthesis of cyclotribenzoin for potential supramolecular applications.

Macrocyclic compounds are fascinating and useful molecules that continue to be the object of extensive synthetic efforts. In fact, supramolecular chemistry, drug development, molecular imaging and materials science are only some of the hottest areas where macrocycles find widespread use. The search for new macrocycles having novel molecular properties is more active than ever. Recently, the group of Professor Ognjen Š. Miljanić reported the synthesis of a novel chiral macrocycle that the authors proposed to name "cyclotribenzoin" as it was obtained via benzoin condensation of three equivalents of isophthaldehyde.
