Thieme Chemistry deposits nearly 700,000 distinct chemical structures into PubChem

The open database portal collects information on chemical structures, identifiers, chemical and physical properties, patents, health and toxicity data.

PubChem is an open database of chemical molecules at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). It collects various information, like structures, biological activities, health, safety and chemical and physical properties and is therefore used by millions of users worldwide.

Recently, thousands of structures and links of Thieme’s chemistry journals SYNTHESIS, SYNLETT, SYNFACTS, as well as Science of Synthesis and Pharmaceutical Substances have been added to the portal. Nearly 700,000 structures, of which 42% are new to PubChem, were added to the database. Purpose of this integration is the improvement of discoverability of information about chemicals and chemical structures.
