Publish Open Access in Planta Medica

Authors of articles for all Thieme subscription journals – including, of course, Planta Medica - have the option of paying an article processing charge (APC) so that their articles will be published on an Open Access basis. Thieme and the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) share the APC

For the year 2026, i.e. from 1st January to 31st December 2026, Georg Thieme Verlag KG and the GA agree to share the APC charges for ten (10) articles, thus allowing 100% APC discount for ten GA members who cannot afford to pay the APC fees to publish their articles open access under CC-BY licence in Planta Medica.

This waiver cannot be used by members whose institutions have an OA agreement with the publisher or if the project is covered under an agreement by a funder sponsoring OA (e.g. the Wellcome Trust) or if it is a project wholly funded by a commercial contract with a company. This 100% APC waiver will be applied on a first-come first-served basis.

Criteria
This research project was not wholly funded by industry.
A corresponding author has been a member of the GA for a minimum of 24 months. 
The author's institution must not have an existing OA agreement with Thieme.
